Boudha Buddha Jayanti „Buddha Jayanti“ ist das höchste Fest der Buddhisten und erinnert an Buddhas Geburt (623 v.Chr.), an seine Erleuchtung im Alter von 35 Jahren (588 v.Chr.) und an seinen Eingang ins Nirwana bei seinem Tod im Alter von 80 Jahren. Es wird an Vollmond des Monats Baisakh (April/Mai) gefeiert, weshalb es auch „Buddha Purnima“ (Purnima = Vollmond) heißt. Buddha Jayanti “Buddha Jayanti” is the most important Buddhist feast, remembering Buddha’s birth (623 B.C.) and his enlightenment at the age of 35 years (588 B.C.) and also the moment he attained nirvana at the age of 8o years. “Buddha Jayanti” is celebrated on the date of full moon in the month Baisakh (April/May). Therefore it is also called “Buddha Purnima” (Purnima = full moon).
